Airdac CEN Cable Application
Copper Airdac CEN Cable is a specialized low-voltage power cable designed for residential service connections. It is commonly used to connect electricity from pole-mounted distribution systems directly to a building’s meter panel or main switchboard. With a copper conductor, XLPE insulation, concentric copper neutral, and a durable PE outer sheath, the Airdac CEN cable offers superior performance in harsh outdoor environments.
Airdac CEN Cable Standard
SANS 1507-6
Circular stranded hard drawn copper phase conductor, XLPE insulated with concentrically arranged identified neutral and bare earth conductors. Polyethylene sheathed 600/1000V service connection cable. Nylon ripcord laid under sheath. Manufactured to SANS 1507 -6.
1.Phase conductor: Copper conductor
2.Insulation :XLPE
3.Neutral conductor :Copper wire
4.Ripcord:Nylon
5.Binder tape :Non-hygroscopic tape
6.Sheathed:PE sheath
• Small overall diameter - concentric construction
• Lower mass - due to smaller diameter - no steel wire armour • Increased safety - reliable earthing
• Improved reliability - UV stable sheath and core insulation
• Tamper and vandal proof - unauthorised access to phase conductor inhibited by concentric layer
• Easy strip with nylon ripcord
